The Swarm Removal List
Did you know catching swarms is one of the easiest way to catch free bees for free? The hardest part, of course, is finding them. The Mid-Columbia Beekeepers Association has an automated Swarm Contact List on our Swarm Removal page. It will list current paid beekeeper member’s contact information on the days of the week they “Opt in” to catch a Swarm. Join or renew your membership to be listed today, and read on to learn how.
We offer this Swarm Removal service to the public for a small donation to the MCBA. These donations will go towards signs and cards to help get the word out, and go towards beekeeping education.
For new and existing members the question often comes up how do I get on the swarm list? Answer: In just a few simple steps:
- Login to tricitybees.org
- Under the My Account Menu, select edit Profile
- Update your contact information:
- First Name
- Phone
- City
- Comment
- Select the Days of the Week you are available
- Optionally you can select other cities you would not mind catching swarms, this is a feature still under development, as a work around you can add the city to your comments.
- Taking yourself off the list is as simple as unchecking the Days Of The Week. We recommend this to keep the list of only beekeepers that are in the area ready to go.
